troyer christmas webcam
With Steve's parents in Honduras, our Christmas will not include a Troyer celebration in Ohio this year. We were lucky to spend almost a week at Thanksgiving with Mark and Katie at Rachel and Andrew's house in Virginia. Yes, that is a whole other blog post in the back log! Someday...
But this weekend we celebrated over the internet with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Virgil. We have a webcam that we occasionally use with both sets of grandparents and Anya and Evan both really love doing it. This time Evan was actually saying Grandma and Grandpa, so that was really neat. And Mark and Katie were visiting them in Honduras, so it was fun to see them on the computer, too.
We chatted for a while before breaking the news to Anya that there were presents to be opened. Grandma and Grandpa had planned way ahead and left a bunch of stuff at our house for Christmas and birthdays, since they knew they wouldn't be able to easily send things from Honduras. All the gifts were a huge success, but it was good we started with the conversation because after the presents were revealed they were engrossed with playing with their new things. I think we played with everything, except the bath toys, before the night was over, including trying on all 12 pairs of socks (6 for each). Seriously, I thought Anya was going to make Steve take a photo of her in all six pairs! And Evan had to try on all his, too.

The cutest part was that long after we had finished talking on the computer, Evan climbed up in the desk chair and said, "Gin, Gamma!" This meant again grandma or grandpa (he usually says the same for both).
Our holidays certainly won't feel complete without seeing any of the Troyers face-to-face, but we are happy and grateful for what we are still able to share.

That is so great that you were able to "celebrate" with them over the webcam. So cute that Evan wanted to talk to them again!
